Praying For Your Children
I am a control freak. I readily admit it. Being a parent has reminded me again and again that I cannot control everything… or anything really. I take comfort in the fact that the One who is in control hears my prayers and cares about what is on my heart.
The best thing we can do as parents is to pray for our children and trust that God will give us the help that we need.

Six Prayers For Your Children
1. Pray for their salvation
Pray that your children will accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Ask God for them to have a strong and life long relationship with Christ.
“My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27
2. Pray for your children’s protection
Ask God to protect your children and to help them make the right choices. Ask him to surround your children with angel to guide and protect them.
“God will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.” Psalm 91:11
3. Pray for them to trust in God
Pray that your children will be comforted knowing that God is with them. Ask God to help your child not fear but to trust in God and His plan. Ask God to give them strength and courage to face the day.
“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of you right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13
4. Pray for your children’s health
For both healthy children and children with serious medical conditions go to God and ask that He will work in your child’s life and health.
“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases” Psalm 103:2-3
5. Pray for their friendships
The people we spend our time with have a great influence on how we live our lives. Pray that God will bring quality friendships into the lives of your children. Pray that they will be surrounded with positive examples and have the tools they need when faced with hard choices.
“The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.” Proverbs 12:26
6. Pray for their future spouses
Somewhere in the world the child that will be your future son/daughter-in-law is growing, developing, learning, and being shaped by their childhood into the adult they will eventually become. Pray for that child. Pray that God will provide the right partner for your child and that they will have a healthy marriage with a firm foundation in the love of God.
“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.” James 5:16
