According to the less than nerdy, or nerd adjacent, people in my life in can be quite intimidating and confusing to find the perfect gifts for d&d players.
Fear not!
I have put together a fantastic gift guide that is certain to be a hit with the dungeon and dragon player that you are shopping for. My husband, a long time d&d fan and longer time nerd, has vetted my selections to make sure I have a critical hit.

Great Gift Ideas For Any DnD Player
Let’s start this amazing list of gifts for dungeon and dragons fans with some excellent books. These dungeon and dragons books are great ideas for your d&d lover.
If you are shopping for a d&d player who is new to the game then a D&D Players Handbook is a definite must have. It contains all of the core rules and gives an excellent starting point for d&d character creation.
Another staple in any quality d&d campaign is the D&D Monster Manual. The monster manual is an important resource for dungeon masters that want to create their own home brew campaign setting. From this book you can mix and match different enemies or allies that the party would encounter.
The Dungeon Master’s Guide is the perfect addition if the dnd fan that you are shopping for likes to run his or her own campaign. This fifth edition guide is the current handbook for all your rules and resources for running your very own campaign.
Xanathar’s Guide To Everything is a supplement to the Players Handbook with new subclasses and backgrounds for players to choose from.
Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything is similar to Xanathar’s Guide in that it is another supplemental product. This resource adds an entire new player class, new subclasses, and rules for customizing your character’s origin.
The last book that I have for you is something totally different. This is not going to help you with your game at all but it is so much fun and such a unique dungeon and dragon gift. Heroes’ Fast: The Official D&D Cookbook is an excellent gift! If you are not a dnd player yourself but want to find ways to join in the fun then I highly recommend this cookbook.
Perfect Gift Idea For D&D Players
Most of the lists of gifts for d&d players include dice, dice, and more dice. Now don’t get me wrong I have never met a dungeons and dragons player who did not love a good set of dice but dice is not the only thing that they love.
I will include some of my favorite polyhedral dice later on but first I want to give you some more unique ideas that make an amazing gift.
Board Games
Most people who enjoy playing D&D also love playing other types of games as well. A board game is a perfect gift idea because even people who do not play D&D can join in on the fun.
A personal favorite of mine is the Clue Dungeons and Dragons game. I am a huge fan of Clue in any form that I can get it. Playing this Dungeons and Dragons version of the game is an excellent way to mash up both my husband’s hobby and my love for board games.
Dungeon Mayhem is a 2-4 player Dungeon and Dragon card game that is super easy and fun to learn. Traditional d&d games can be quite lengthy but this fun card game is a great way to get a quick 20-30 minute d&d fix.
Who doesn’t love a game of Monopoly? Now you can play this Dungeon and Dragon Monopoly! The game features iconic images, characters, and locations from the Dungeons & Dragons universe.
Great D&D Gift For Players Of Every Skill Level
I have had the best time hunting and searching for the perfect d&d gift. Of course I wanted to find gift ideas that pertain specifically to playing the game of dungeons and dragons but I also wanted some unique dnd gifts as well.
One of the main reasons for this is that I see how people who do not know my husband very well tend to purchase gifts for him. His hobbies are vastly different from any other family member. Because of this when they try to purchase a gift for him that fits his hobbies it can tend to miss the mark. I do not say this to at all make it sound like he is not grateful for the effort that they have made and that he does not like the gift. Rather, I am sharing so that you can understand your gift recipient a bit better and therefore choose a gift for them that helps them to feel seen, understood, and appreciated.
Dungeon and Dragon players obviously love the game of DnD but don’t forget that just like people who enjoy grilling, golf, marathons, crafting, or gardening there are tons of other aspects of the person. That is why this gift guide has so many options, such a board games, home decor, and silly socks or shirts, that may not be used specifically for playing D&D.
The gifts are intended to encompass the entire person and not only the game play.
Having said that here are a few more games that my husband and I really love playing together and that he has given his nerd seal of approval on.
Best Gifts For Game Night
What could be better than this Dragons Keep Castle Dice Tower? A dice tower is a super cool and fun way to roll your dice and this particular dice tower looks amazing.
Another dice tower that is a bit on the creepy side is this Grim Reaper Dice Tower. The quality is really great and even if you are not a fan of the creep you have to admit that the attention to detail on this dice tower is really fantastic.
For a dice tray that is a bit more understated but still an amazing asset to your game this Harbor Loot Brand Dice Tray is a great d&d gift. My husband loves this dice tray and uses it for all kinds of table top games. It is really great quality and honestly I am considering buying him another one because he loves the one he has so much.
Rollooo Celtic Tree Dice Bag is not just cool to look at but it does double duty as both a bag to transport dice and a tray to use for rolling dice.
A different option for carrying your dice set is this chainmail dice bag made from stainless steel. Anyone playing a fighter or paladin character would truly be made complete with this great accessory.
Level Up Your D&D Campaign
I found three of the coolest resources that will take your d&d games to the next level. These are reusable options of game materials that are typically one use products. Incorporating these items will help your d&d player to increase their sustainability and honestly using them should add +2 to your intelligence.
First, these character sheets are made from silicon so that you can use them again and again. Write one them with a fine-ink tip pen and when you are done use a damp cloth to clean them off and start all over.
Second, a battle grid game board that you use with wet/dry erase markers. There are other grid boards similar to this that you can reuse but this specific game board is known to not stain or roll up.
Finally, this DnD Organizer has a built in dry erase character sheet as well as a place to store your miniatures and roll your dice.
Dungeons & Dragons Game Master Gifts
I cannot promise you that giving one of these gifts to your DM will give your character a brand new magic item but I can promise you that it should.
We have this Dragon Dice Box in our house. In fact, my husband received it as a gift and I commandeered it as home decor for some built-in shelves that we have in the dining room. I like to include little subtle, and sometimes not so subtle, nods to Josh’s hobbies in our home. Decorating the house is typically falls under the wife’s discretion but it is important to me that every member of our family feels included in our home.
Taking notes is important in D&D regardless of if you are a player or the dungeon master. I really like this gorgeous leather journal. The design is perfect for dungeons and dragons not to mention that the leather design is just gorgeous.
A dungeon master’s screen is important when you are playing in person. The dm screen hides your notes, rolls, and allows you to keep your story beats tacked up out of players view but easily accessible to the DM. You can find a lot of different options but these are some of the best.
Fun Gifts For D&D Players
I have some ideas for gifts for d&d players that are items you would use around your home. These fun gift ideas do not directly impact game play but they will make an impact.
If your d&d lover is cold natured, like I am, then this D20 Throw Blanket is a great addition to their bag of holding.
An absolute Nat20 for coziness is this Natural 20 Pillow.
Do not tell Josh but I think that this Dungeon and Dragons Game Sign is going to be part of his birthday gift this year. I mean it is just too perfect.
I also like this D&D Knowledge Sign. It is a metal sign which is pretty cool as well.
What do you get someone who plays D and D?
I really do not think you can go wrong with a good graphic t-shirt. I found some t-shirts with a unique design that are really fun for any Dungeons and Dragons fan.
Honorable mention also goes to these D&D Ankle Socks that I am buying like right now. This exact minute. Add to cart! Stalk the tracking code. I need them!
What do DnD people like?
Fun!
They like the fun, whimsy, and fanciful. DnD people like a lot of the same things that you like. A DnD player, whether they are brand new or an advanced player, will love any of the great items on this list. They are in it for the love of the game!
Two super fun and magical items that are sure to be a great gift are these two silly options.
An Extra Large Inflatable D20!
A Time Out Chair and Dunce Hat to punish misbehaving dice.
Is DnD dice a good gift?
In a word…
YES!
There are so many dice to choose from. So. Many.
I am going to give you lots of my favorites here but this will barely scratch the surface on what is available to you. If you can dream it then there is most likely a dice set to match it.
I suggest clicking on the photos to get a better look because a lot of these have details that are easy to miss in the smaller photos.
What should I gift my Dungeons and Dragons Fan?
You know your Dungeons and Dragons fan better than you think. While they will love any of the gift ideas on this list I suggest that you take a moment to think about what other things do you know about your dungeons and dragons fan.
Think about what other things that they enjoy and try to combine that with D&D. For example a D&D player that also enjoys cooking may like these coasters or this dragon salt and pepper holder.
You can’t go wrong with any of these gifts for d&d players!
